Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo the real name of the “Teen Queen” Kathryn Bernardo. She is born on March 26, 1996. She is a Filipino actress, model and recording artist. She became known for her role as Mara in the hit TV series Mara Clara (2010-2011). She has since starred in TV series’ Princess and I (2012-2013), Got to Believe (2013-2014), Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015-2016) and La Luna Sangre (2017-2018). She has also starred in different films such as Way Back Home (2011), Must Be… Love (2013), She’s Dating the Gangster (2014), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016) and Can’t Help Falling in Love (2017).

Bernardo has been a contract artist of Star Magic and ABS-CBN since 2003 and 2010, respectively.

Daniel John Ford Padilla the real name of the “Teen King” Daniel Padilla. He is born 26 April 1995. He is a Filipino actor and recording artist. Padilla has been labelled as Philippine showbiz’s “Teen King”. He made his television debut with a supporting role in soap opera Gimik 2010 (2010), before landing the lead role in Growing Up (2011). Padilla has starred in the most watch Filipino television programs of the year including Princess and I (2012-2013), Got to Believe (2013-2014)[10] and Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015-2016).[11][12] He made her feature film debut as supporting cast in 2012 before starred in the top 10 highest-grossing Filipino films of the year including She’s Dating the Gangster (2014), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016) and Can’t Help Falling in Love. Padilla has released three double platinum albums in Philippines including, self-titled mini album Daniel Padilla (2012), DJP (2013), I Heart You (2014), gold record album I Feel Good(2015), and compilation album DJ’ Greatest Hits (2016). He also held headlining concerts including Daniel Live! (2013) DOS (2014), Most Wanted (2015) and upcoming concert DJ Classics: Back at the Araneta (2017)

Padilla earned numerous awards in television, film and music sections including FAMAS Award for Best ActorPMPC Star Award for Movie Actor of the YearGMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards for Box Office King, and Awit Awards. His hit song “Simpleng Tulad Mo” has won Myx Music Awards for Favorite Song. In his career, he has received three World Music Awards nominations in 2013, and become the first Pinoy artist to win Kids’ Choice Awards for Global Slime Star.

Princess and I, then coming as working title You’re Always in my Heart, was announced during an ABS-CBN trade event as one of the upcoming television series of the network to be shown on primetime. After the success of her previous show Mara Clara, the project was given to teen star Kathryn Bernardoas her counterpart Julia Montes was given the lead role for another show, Walang Hanggan.[3]

On March 31, 2012 on the network’s primetime newscast TV Patrol, the show was formally announced as Princess and I and will be shown April 16, taking the timeslot of the concluding television show E-boy. Along with Kathryn, other teen actors to star include her Growing Up onscreen team-up partner Daniel PadillaPilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Finalist Khalil Ramos, and Enrique Gil, whom she co-starred with in the movie Way Back Home.[4]

Mara Clara is a remake of the 1992 television series, Mara Clara an adapted novel and serial of Emil Cruz Jr. produced by ABS-CBN. In 1996, the original TV series was adapted into a film where the whole cast reprised their role except for Eruel Tongco’s character Gary Davis who was played by William Martinez in the movie due to Tongco’s death. In August 2010, ABS-CBN announced that they have decided to remake the television series[3] with Kathryn Bernardo slated for the role of Mara opposite Julia Montes as Clara which centres two children who were both born in the same day and was switched by their uncle, Karlo (Ping Medina). However it was noted that Karlo is just following his brother Gary’s (Jhong Hilario) order. Until both two daughters returned to the people who they were belong to. The series premiered from October 25, 2010 to June 3, 2011.

Pangako Sa ‘Yo (LitPromise to You / English: The Promise) is a primetime soap opera series produced and broadcast by the Philippine television network ABS-CBN. It is dubbed the first “teleserye” on Philippine television, as well as the first ever Philippine television series to be broadcast outside the country. It starred Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales.

The soap, which ran from November 13, 2000 to September 20, 2002, spanned 481 episodes at 30 minutes each then replaced by Bituin. The show posted an all-time high rating of 74.9% during its September 2002 series finale, posting the country’s second highest rating for any episode by a TV series next to Esperanza, and the highest rated finale episode for any Filipino TV series. A remake was produced in 2015, starring Angelica PanganibanIan VeneracionKathryn BernardoDaniel Padilla, and Jodi Sta. Maria, who had also starred in the original series.

The writers of the series are Adam Cornelius Asin who wrote for the 2015 iteration of Pangako Sa’Yo and Mary Pearl Urtola who wrote for Dolce Amore.

La Luna Sangre marks the return of the KathNiel love team (consisting of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) to television after last starring in the 2015 series, Pangako Sa ‘Yo. The two appeared in three films Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016) and Can’t Help Falling in Love (2017) before working with La Luna Sangre. The two trained in Pekiti and Wushu martial arts as part of the television series project. The television series also marks Richard Gutierrez‘s debut in ABS-CBN media.[11] Maymay Entrataand Edward Barber also made their television series debut through La Luna Sangre.

After the success of the television series, Mara ClaraABS-CBN decided to launch the lead cast of the series to film, Bernardo and Montes. In February 2011, the cast was announced that the two main characters will be portrayed by Bernardo and Montes and supposedly together with AJ Perez and Albie Casino.[4][5] But on April 17, 2011, Perez died due to a vehicular accident.[6][7]

The film company then replaced Perez with Sam Concepcion.[8][9] In June 2011, Casino was originally tied to the film. However, in July, he was pulled out and was replaced by Enrique Gil.[10] According to Star Cinema, the change in the lineup is prompted by their desire to experiment with different combinations for Bernardo and Montes.[11] Casino had initially worked with Bernardo and Montes in Mara Clara.

Must Be… Love is a 2013 Filipino coming-of-age romantic comedy film directed by Dado Lumibao, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. The film was shot in many locations in Cebu and Laguna in the Philippines. The film was produced by Star Cinema and was released nationwide on March 13, 2013.

This marks the first solo film with love tandem Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in a leading role following their roles in the ensemble films 24/7 in Love and Sisterakas in 2012.
